A good friend of mine is expecting! I’ve been wanting to give her a pregnancy gift, but I just couldn’t find the right gift. I was trying to stay away from buying anything for the baby (for now!) and only focus on gifts that would help a pregnant woman feel their best. I came across Pregnancy Survival Kits when googling “gifts for pregnant women” and I thought it was the perfect gift idea! I had to make her one!

So I began my search for the best gifts I could find for pregnant women in their first trimester and pregnant women in their second trimester. I looked at best pregnancy gift lists, I looked at top pregnancy gift search results on Amazon and I read a handful pregnancy blogs. After some research (ok, a lot of research…), I finally placed my order on Amazon!

Instructions

Materials

  1. Gift basket – $16.99
  2. Decorative ribbon – $4.99
  3. Shredded crinkle paper x2 – $3.99*
  4. Artificial flowers – $3.49
  5. Colored cardstock paper – $0.79
  6. Neutral cardstock paper – $4.99
  7. String (already had)

*you may not need 2 bags of the shredded crinkle paper to fill your basket. I used about 1 and a half bags.

Tools

  1. Scissors
  2. Hole puncher
  3. Hot glue gun
  4. Glue stick
  5. Printer

Directions

Wrap the ribbon around basket and cut to size:

Hot glue gun the ribbon to the four corners of the basket (be sure to test your glue gun on a scrap paper first!):

Cut any excess ribbon off in the front and hot glue gun the edges of the ribbon to the front of the basket:

Print out the Pregnancy Survival Kit Gift Tags on the neutral cardstock paper, hole punch and cut along the dotted lines:

Line up the edges of the gift tags on the colored cardstock so that you will have an even border on all four sides. Glue stick the tags to the colored cardstock and cut out:

Center and hot glue gun the Pregnancy Survival Kit Gift Tags to the ribbon on the front and back of the basket:

Fill the basket with the shredded crinkle paper:

Arrange your pregnancy gift items in the basket. Move, add or remove the crinkle paper as needed:

Cut the stems and add the artificial flowers to any empty space in the gift basket:

Using string, tie the “For the Mama to Be” gift tag on the side of the basket:
